Joseph Griffith

Virginia has always played an important role in development of American food culture since its days as a British colony. It's no surprise that an area with such a rich history has had a huge influence on the nation's foodways, but it's also home to some incredible folklore. Joseph Griffith brings an art exhibition celebrating these two robust cultural keystones to downtown Hampton, VA at the Conch & Bucket, a warm and cozy coastal-oriented bar and restaurant just feet from the port city's century-old seafood docks. Opening reception is Saturday May 10th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and will coincide with the downtown's inaugural Second Saturday Arts Walk event. The exhibition runs until July 4th and is free to attend.

Mr. Griffith cordially invites all members of the public to this special event. Limited edition prints of the exhibited works, as well as the framed originals, will be available for purchase. All South Hampton Roads residents (Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach addresses) who attend the opening reception will receive an original woodblock print of Norfolk native son Bob Saget signed by artist Joseph Griffith. Valid ID is required and supplies are limited. Full disclosure: Bob may be depicted wrestling a squid or nesting with pelicans, all we can say is it certainly won't be anything normal.
